Monday, September 6 - Mighty Mike Goes Home
September 6 is your last opportunity to visit Mighty Mike at John Ball Zoo. He will be heading south on Tuesday, September 7th to bask in sunny Florida for the winter months. Come to the Zoo and sign his Goodbye Card on Labor Day weekend.
Saturday, September 11 - Free Day!
9/11 Day of Remembrance. Free admission to John Ball Zoo.
Sunday, September 12 - John Ball Zoo’s Monarch Madness
Time: 1:00 - 5:00 pm
Join John Ball Zoo to celebrate the Monarch’s amazing life cycle and their 3,000 mile migration to Mexico. Visitors will have the chance to enter a drawing to release monarch butterflies on the hour from 1 pm – 4 pm. Free hands-on activities for all ages with paid admission (ages 2 and under - free, 3-12 years old - $5.50, 13 and older - $7.50).
Saturday, September 25 - Connecting Families with Nature Day
Time: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Learn what you can do and where you can go outdoors with your family in Kent County. Nature Centers, Parks and outdoor recreation businesses will provide activity stations throughout the zoo free with paid zoo admission. If your family is participating in the Connecting Families with Nature Passport program, visit the Kent Conservation website to learn how to get your free child's ticket to the zoo for this day only.
Cost: ages 2 and under - free, 3-12 years old - $3, 13 and older - $3.50 (children with completed passport are free)
