2010-02-08 - YOU OTTER BE MY VALENTINE Corny? Yes. Will she think so? No. John Ball Zoo comes up with perfect Valentines gifts.

(Grand Rapids, MI) John Ball Zoo’s FOOTSTEPS animal adoption program is available all year long, but during the Valentine’s Day season, staff works double time to come up with catchy phrasing and unique animal packages. Animal sponsorship through FOOTSTEPS is personal, thoughtful, and most importantly, helps animals.

100% of the dollars earned towards the FOOTSTEPS program goes into the John Ball Zoo Society’s WILDLIFE CONSERVATION FUND. Each year the Zoo Society accepts grant applications for conservation programs here, and all over the world. Last year a elephant project in Botswana was supported along with a turtle head start program right here in Michigan to name only two of 8 funded projects in 2009.

This year’s 2010 Valentine Special is the RED EYED TREE FROG. The package is only $70.00 and includes an adorable plush animal nestled nicely in a canvas Zoo bag along with a $10 Zoo gift card, an animal adoption Certificate, animal fact sheet, color photo and a one year subscription to ZooNews Magazine.

The Red Eyed Tree Frog package is only one of several hundred different animal choices. If the Zoo has the animal, they’ll put a package together. How about “I can’t bear to be without you”, or “I go ape over you”?

If $70.00 is out of the budget, there are packages for as low as $25.00. They include an animal adoption Certificate, animal fact sheet, color photo and the one year subscription to ZooNews Magazine.
